Like all modifiers, you loose a bit (typically 1 to 3 stops) when you use these. If the flash is underpowered to start with then you will be even more limited in the useability of it. Not a device to use to provide fill flash at F16.

Thanks everyone for the responses.
I actually called the head of the graphics department and the media kit was wrong so the dimensions are 17.75 wide and the height is 11.375
