Help Me - Ive never made a website before

Im doing my first ACTUAL website, rather cheaply though. But I need some help here.
First, I bought my domain name via godaddy.com.
Second, I have downloaded SimpleViewer and created a "test" page via Picasa.
Now, it's telling me to upload this folder to the FTP program of my choice. That's where my problem is - I don't yet have any web hosting and I dont know which one I should use. Or how to upload the folder via FTP, which I barely even know what that means.
Simple question for a simple mind.

-the easiest way is to use a program like Dreamweaver that has the FTP client built in.
-the second is to download a free one and that is a tad bit difficult to run, but there is one out there called "cuteftp" that will probably do the job.
I could definitely help you if you had Dreamweaver as I maintain my site with it.

one of our members, Gallery by Hal, pointed out to me a while back.
It is free hosting and includes the tools to set up a site.
I looked at it for a bit and thought it was kind of interesting.

I have my domain name with godaddy.com
Also godaddy is my host for my website too. I use a program called freeway express 5 pro for designing my website, but its for mac only.

Well I signed up for my domain with godaddy then tried to transfer it into Yahoo, which I found would have taken two months. So I canceled the GoDaddy, losing 12 bucks, and did it, with a different domain - for the time being, with Yahoo.
