Models, say you come across a new model in your area on one of the various modeling sites.
She's, say, 5'1" and 180 lbs, is an "up and coming" model, who's dreamed of modeling her whole life, since everyone's always asked her if she was a model.
Have you noticed that these same "models" ALWAYS say that people ask them if they're a model? I want to know who's asking these kinds of questions!

About the only time I've given unsolicited advice was the time I was pumping gas and noticed the idiot at the pump next to me was trying to light a cigarette. I would have kept my mouth shut normally, but I was within the blast zone. Hey if he wants to remove himself from the gene poll I'm all for it, just don't try to take me with you.

Anyway, while it's a good idea to keep ignition sources away from fuel on general principles, cigarettes won't ignite gasoline. In fact, you can put a cigarette out in gasoline. (Don't try this at home.)
Matches will, though, so if he was using a match it was appropriate to shut him down.

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeallly dont try this at home. Because if there is sufficient vapor pressure (gas standing in the sun for a while with no breeze or just a really hot day) the cigarette will light the gas just before it hits the surface. This used to be a High School lab before/after demonstration of vapor pressure. I'm almost always against giving unsolicited advice but if someone is playing with matches lighters or cigs around gasoline I won't hesitate to say something. Since I don't risk becoming extra-crispy from what someone writes in their profile I don't see any reason to go where I'm not asked.
I believe that the reality of the issue is that there are people who have such a high opinion of themselves, that they fail to recognize their own shortcomings, and are likely to blame others for their failures while taking sole credit for any success that they may achieve. This isn't just models either, there are more than enough photographers and stylists out there that don't have a clue what they're doing, but are deluded enough to think that they're the top dog in their market. That's not to say that any or all of these types are no good at their chosen craft, only that they are less likely to succeed because they can't recognize their own failings.
