you will have to look up the site(s) yerself, but at six hundred bucks a shoot, this amounts to paid rape...whilst i can appreciate a naked chic or two lesbians rolling around, the psychological impact of a shoot to a typical gal can not be measured.
i guess the psychological impact of bondage photos upon the model is not worthy of social intercourse...shame...shame...shame

I know a number of models who've worked for Kink, as well as similar sites like HardTied, and the psychological impact is generally nil. For one thing it's staged and not nearly as harsh as it looks, for another many of the participants engage in such activities in their personal lives for fun.

You're making a biased & unfounded assertion, based on personal prejudices, that there is a psychological impact.

please do not get me wrong...i LOVE lesbians...but as a combat vet, i can say with absolute authority, combat troops *sans the remf's* NEED to decompress after such a traumatic experience...i would wager that a young woman is not able to fully comprehend the ramification of their actions.
ps...the photo sums up my love of the subject matter...please note...it is not my image...i wish i could shoot those two together.

I'm curious about the part in bold. Does that mean you think it'd be more acceptable if they were paid more?

i was saddened at getting paid such a paltry amount for being being HORRIFICALLY violated...

At least two of the professional models I've worked with have been part of this stuff although probably not at the levels you're referring to. The fact that these sites are so well established shows that you may be surprised at the amount of willing participants. I'm guessing no-one forces them into it although the after effects must be interesting. From what I understand some of the 'clients' for these videos are lawyers, architects, doctors et al so as we say, go figure. Personally I find it difficult to watch.

I am kind of curious how you equate "combat vet" with kink models.... As far as I know, the shoots you see on sites like kink.com are all pretty much scripted, with "safe words", and are all voluntary, paid work.... I seriously doubt any of the models at kink.com had any serious fear of death from their actions, and they most likely didnt cause any one's death with their actions...
I have worked with a couple of the ladies who have shot sets over at the Armory, both off Craigslist, both before I was aware of their "kink" work, and they were as well adjusted as any models I have worked with, more professional and relaxed than many... and no, I was not shooting porn, I was shooting some vanilla headshots and jewelry stuff... A friend of mine pointed out that they both had sets up at kink.com, I have worked with one of the ladies since, and has been stated above, she told me that that is the work she most enjoys, she said its what she does for fun... (she evidently likes bondage and electric shocks)
You need to be very careful about thinking that folks will react to a situation the way you think they will react... your own personal bias will prevent you from getting it right the majority of the time...
Yes, combat has a predictable price, psychologically. Not at all convinced bondage or kink has the same costs.
As long as the participates are willing members, then what harm can it be? Not everyone does only missionary, in the dark, under the covers and fully clothed.
I have worked with a model who wanted something like this, but to her (and me) it was just a fantasy she wanted captured.
whats the harm between consenting (and paid) adults...Or did I miss something?
Well, I consider myself a pretty typical girl. Married once, almost divorced, 3 beautiful kids, not on meds, not a substance abuser of any type (unless you count caffeine and nicotine). Stable home life for the most part, well-adjusted and intelligent, articulate and capable.
I worked for HatrdTied.com and TopGrl.com. Loved doing both sets. I've worked for thebondagechannel.com, done lots of DID and bondage, lots of BDSM, inordinate amounts of fetish work. It was, and still is, my genre of choice. I've also done some lower level mainstream adult work.
None of it has had a negative impact on me, personally. I showed up, did my job, picked up my paycheck, gave hus and handshakes all around, and went on my merry way. I'd do any of those BDSM/fetish sets again in a heartbeat, because I enjoyed them.
As a general rule, fetish and BDSM sets are some of the most relaxed, professional and AWARE sets to be on. The people involved know what they are doing, how to do it safely, and are consummate professionals. Most of the girls I know who are in the fetish modeling world are also into the lifestyle, and we're definitely not shell-shocked, trembling little virgins.
You personally may not be capable of comprehending or dealing with the type of sexuality and scenarios we portray. Please do not assume that we are being taken advantage of, however, as it casts blemishes on OUR work and OUR reputations.
I love my work. I will be doing this kind of stuff long after I have passed my ability to model professionally. I don't criticize what you choose as riht for you, please, offer the same respect for me and don't make assumptions about what kind of woman I am because of how I am shown on film and video.
There is a VERY good reason why I am The Original Sin.

I couldn't say it any better.
I shoot bondage and fetish- with both models, and lifestylers. I know a few models who have shot with HogTied and DeviceBondage, and none of them have suffered in the slightest from their experiences. These people are professionals. They know what they are doing. There is an old saying in the BDSM world: if you break your toys, you can't play with them any more.
Let's go take some pictures.

So very true. And as a young woman in the lifestyle, there are a LOT of "codes" and protocol to follow. The biggest one, outside of what Maso-Arts stated above, is SSC, or Safe Sane Consensual (I know RACK is a big one as well but i'm not as familiar with that one).
Everyone involved KNOWS EXACTLY what they are getting into, and have more than likely negotiated to the letter what will be done, what boundaries need to be set (soft and hard limits for example) and what can and cant be used on them for restraints or toys.
Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you're perfectly free.

I didn't want to hijack this thread, so I posted about SSC vs. RACK over in this post in the Off-Topic forum.

Kink.com is half people who don't shoot ANYTHING other than kink... they are normal people with normal lives and jobs. They LOVE what they do. Some are paid adult models and pornstars. They make everything look way worse than it really is. Also, $600 maybe for a brand new girl in a girl/girl scene, but any well known girl on the site (like Phoenix Marie for example) isn't walking away with less than $1000, usually closer to $1200.
One of my male friends is a contract star for kink.
In addition, may I say if that's rape... don't stop
I do appreciate this thread. I have taken a recent interest in Bondage / Domination style photography. I am at the beginning stages of learning about Rope. There are many misconceptions and with that being so I will be creating a new site for my work. I have had trouble locating non-model clients for portrait work due to my model work. So I am a strict believer in keeping your genre's of work separate that do not play nicely together.
Anyone that is involved within the "Community" or "Lifestyle" is involved due to their personal choice. Money is what makes things happen but it is not what makes the world go round.
I only ask that we all take the time to respect one another opinion's and keep in mind that as passionate we are about our view the other person is as well.
Keep shooting and creating because BEAUTY is all about your eye not others...

I see why you feel as you do. It might be better to seek new clients, instead of going in the closet. Sooner or later it will bite you. Just ask Representive Wiener. A man who hides nothing to be ashamed of.
Just a piece of friendly advice, take it or leave it.
Either way, there is no sweat off my ass.
Not hiding it. But to someone that looks at it that way can feel that way.
I just have found it easier to split up my work because a person looking for family portraits rarely wants to see half naked models. So I am creating unique site for each style to cater better to their needs.
You do what you feel you need to do.
The last I heard, Texas bible thumpers are always looking for some one to tar and feather. Any excuse, will suit them just fine.
All I keep imagining is Mrs Bible Thumper, hearding her 7 snot nosed kids into your studio for the $39.95 special. The kiddies open the studio doors and run in, followed close behind by Mrs Bible Thumper. They all stop and their jaws drop as they see a model posing, clad in a 1950's era bikini that Annette would have been proud to wear.
The next thing I see is you running for your life from the church ladies and their torch bearing mob.
Just make sure you cover your ass on every aspect. Shooting kiddies and shooting nakies do not mix well. Personally, I think you need to choose what is more important, snot nosed kids and money, or going hungry and bewbs.
Very good. Appreciate those kind words...
