The defense is we need as a people to survive. Bush and Co did everything they could to tear down this country and make short term oil profits. Obama is of course doing everything he can to jump start the economy. The repubs just are not being patriotic and helping out.

The repubs march to the big business drum and Obama marches to the will of the people and has a keen interest in seeing America become great again.

Life is better no matter who the president is because Bush is gone. I know you right wingers all drank the Koolaid but the fact remains that it will take decades if ever to undo the damage that clown caused to our economy. No quick fixes here. The damage is too deep.

The best we can hope for for this administration is a slowing of the slide into oblivion. Stability or a reversal is all icing on the cake.

I think the behavior I'm observing between the two of you is indicative of the problem our current batch of lawmakers are having. They can't seem to resolve the issues we face because they would rather indulge in name calling than problem solving, they are more interested in pressing their point than saving their country, re-election schemes take precedent over dialog, and stimulus money is being wasted if not outright stolen. Personally, I don't think either of you has a grasp of any of the facts surrounding your prejudices, you just like to taunt each other with barbs you can't substantiate.

I don't know much about Presidents prior to Coolidge, but I can tell you the more recent leaders we've had all had their shortcomings, it isn't a phenomenon specific to Bush 2 or Obama.

It's often touted the FDR knew about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor, and let it happen just so he could ignite a war machine that would bring the country out of the gloom of a bad economy.

The fact is, the people we elect to any office in this country, are just that, people. They are prone to all the foibles known to man, including pettiness and larceny. I imagine the test of time will be no more kind to either GWB or BHO, than it has been to any of their predecessors. Watching you two duke it out over who was better is just lunatic, especially noting how little fact you bring to the table. What you might consider talking about are the genius level ideas you have for solving the problems at hand.
