Top "Gaslight" Technique

I will admit it - I do have a STRONG interest in being behind the camera.  I have a little Kodak "point and shoot" camera and I dabble some in image manipulation.  I am new to being behind the camera, so right now I'm just trying to get a "feel" for the process of digital photography.  I am seeking to expand my (very limited) skills behind the camera.

I am interested in creating a "vintage" look to some of my images.  I know that sepia will do it to some extent; however, I am looking for anything further which might help give it more of a vintage/gaslight effect.  What filters/techniques might be good for this effect?

I wish I could help but I know little to nothing about editing / retouching a picture.

If you have a single light source you can vignette with the center on the light. Take it to Sepia or some other monotone from there.

The vignette might give it a more "plate" appearance.  I will have to try that!  Thank you so much! smile
