I'm voting that we not lock threads where legal topics are being discussed. I'd love to see well-researched and factual information where it is available, not just someone's "opinion" being proffered without backing or logic. But I also think that healthy discussions and real-world experiences are valuable tools from which to learn and shape business decisions.

The key, at least in this lounge, is that such discussion is encouraged, but Roger (or me or someone) will surely step in if someone is handing out incorrect information.

Correcting them is the normal course of action, but if they continue to abuse their ability to speak, it will politely be withdrawn. Roger has the ability to simply turn off posting privileges for that user.

So if someone comes in here and learns, we've accomplished a goal. If they come in here and act disruptively, we'll simply prevent that from continuing.

Yup. This was prompted by two threads on MM arguing about whether a modeling site should allow discussions of legal issues in the forums.
